Graphic design, film and photographs are phenomena of the 20th century, a time of extremes. They are styles of information that did not exist in the 19th century. Paintings and sculpture are the direct expressions of an artist but many of the visual phenomena of the 20th century are information intensive media using equipment. Of interest is the dissemination of information rather than the work itself. Graphics, especially, being thinly covered by printing, is an area in which contents are particularly noticed. What impressed the viewers of the exhibition was that 1.the exhibit was uniquely arranged, 2.the exhibits and 3.Pink Floyd as the BGM. The excellent GGG staff was careful to keep the exhibition contentsfocussed but the accolade the viewers gave to the original designing of the exhibition shows that they fully understood the staff's intentions. The arrangement of the exhibition made me think that designers are content makers. Tsunehisa Kimura
