Editorial design could be considered as an area where graphic designers' heart remains. Each element condensed in the editorial design is built on the principal form which is a foundation of graphic design. For the past 50 years since the end of the World War, printing industry went through many changes such as from type printing to phototypesetting, and a variety of changes from hard cover books to paperbacks, photograph and illustration books and electronic publications including CD-ROM. Publication is now facing the technical innovation in the field of digital information. The exhibition was a comprehensive survey of the changes of book design in the changing environment of visual communication design. Mitsuo Katsui
