During my frequent visits to Japan ggg was always one of my regular stops. International recognition of ggg surpasses it's local reputation and according to many of my colleagues in Europe and the U. S., -who were lucky to have a show here - this unforgettable experience marked culmination of their creative careers. Invitation to show my work at ggg came unexpectedly. I was thrilled and intimidated. After discussion with my staff in New York I decided to not stage a regular retrospective exhibition, but instead to present sort of a remix of images, words and sounds. And find new connections between them through a loosely defined narrative. We removed the client as well as the whole problem-solving issue, making the experience purely visual. Everyone at ggg who was involved and supported the installation admitted the unusual and difficult nature of our proposal. Nevertheless, we received all the support necessary to accomplish our ideas.
