When I was approached about the exhibition, it was about 2 years before it was to be held. For me, 2 years was much too long a period of time. I felt more confused than happy. About 4 months later, however, while talking to around 10 colleagues in London, I saw the theme and how it should look in a flash. A monologue with the many kinds of printing. There would be one exhibit with a book made with the same title. By mass producing, I thought it could get in the ring of rightful graphic designs. But it was a long road from there. I even broke my ankle at the best part. Wracking my brains, I kept making and tearing things apart. To be honest, I gave it my all in many different ways. Still, I was not sure until the exhibition began. The opening day, I got an unbelievable amount of praise and lamented inwardly. It was my joy at being at a new starting point. Hideki Nakajima
