Since information can now be recorded instantly and permanently, a designer has to become more aware of himself. Also, faced with a world changing at a dizzying pace, using personal experiences necessarily becomes increasingly important. For that we should not pursue universal definitions but always think about to what extent we can communicate on an individual level and whether it is something that will positively speak to the viewer. As a Japanese brought up in Canada and currently living in Holland, I feel it is necessary to always look back on my own experiences and seek new developments without preconceptions. Robert Nakata
