Japan and Turkey. Two different countries on the opposite edges of the Asian Continent.. So far and so closed. Different cultures, different tongues, different life styles, but common language; graphic design. As a graphic designer from Turkey, a country on the western edge of the continent, where Asia meets Europe, I had unforgettable experiences in Japan, during me exhibitions in ddd gallery and ggg. In both exhibitions, beyond showing recent works as they are, I wanted to make exhibitions which interpret recent works and generate new meanings. I wished the exhibitions to establish dialogue with the visitors, to talk to them and to listen them. In my efforts to achieve this task, the curators an managers of both institutions, approached my ideas with great professionalism and done everything to make both exhibitions perfect. During my visit to Japan it was a great pleasure to meet my Japanese colleagues. I had the opportunity to learn more about Japanese graphic design to feel Japanese atmosphere. Sadik Karamustafa
