The DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion has created a new archive dedicated to Kazumasa Nagai, one of the leading graphic designers in Japan for over half a century, to house his outstanding works in CCGA—such as posters and prints—that have been personally donated by him in 2009. Out of this precious collection of a total of 4,000 works, 139 posters themed on LIFE will be featured in the upcoming exhibition.

After making the dramatic transition from abstraction to representation in the latter half of the 1980s, he has produced numerous posters using animals and plants as a motif, including the LIFE series posters. Produced out of vivid imagination, his works convey a powerful message about the precious gift of life and the nature and those who see them will be reminded of the powerful force of vital energy (LIFE).
