It gave me very great pleasure to have the honor of presenting my works at the Ginza Graphic Gallery because it allowed me to realize, perhaps for the first time in the world, a unified exhibition of both print and computer-based works. Recently, there have been many technology-oriented exhibitions which, however, only illustrate specific aspects of cutting-edge computer technologies. In my exhibition, I focused primarily on basic issues in skill and control inherent to the creation of digitally-motivated forms. Printworks and computerworks were treated as of two completely separate medium, because a direct comparison between the two is inappropriate. Rather, I emphasized the qualities specific to each respective medium in an attempt to exploit these qualities to their fullest expressive potential. John Maeda
